About the Role

Audit & Assurance has a significant number of strategic initiatives, capability-building activities and operational priorities being delivered nationally across 6 different markets. As the volume and complexity of these initiatives continues to grow, creating visibility, alignment, accountability and execution discipline is critical to achieving Audit’s strategic objectives, aligning to the firm’s overall strategy.

The National Projects & Operations Senior Manager plays a central role in supporting the National Managing Partner and Service Line Leadership Team by providing project leadership, operational coordination and business improvement support across Audit & Assurance.

Acting as an extension of the leadership team, this role is responsible for translating strategy into action, ensuring initiatives are prioritised, stakeholders are aligned, milestones are achieved and intended outcomes are delivered. The role provides visibility across national activities, drives accountability and supports leaders to focus on growing and leading the business rather than managing projects.

The role works closely with National Managing Partner, Service Line Leadership Team and key support functions to lead strategic initiatives, coordinate complex projects, improve operational effectiveness and drive sustainable change across the service line.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Project Delivery

  • Partner with the National Managing Partner and Service Line Leadership Team to identify, prioritise and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, milestones, deliverables and success measures.
  • Lead and coordinate national projects and initiatives from inception through to implementation.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks and dependencies, and proactively resolve barriers to delivery.
  • Ensure initiatives remain aligned to strategic objectives and deliver intended business outcomes.
  • Prepare project updates, recommendations and progress reporting for audit leadership team.

Business Operations & Service Line Coordination

  • Support the execution of the Audit & Assurance strategic plan and annual business priorities.
  • Maintain oversight of key initiatives across the national business, ensuring leaders have visibility of progress, issues and opportunities.
  • Coordinate activities across the 6 markets and national support teams.
  • Coordinate change management activities that support successful adoption of new tools, processes and ways of working.
  • Drive accountability by tracking actions, commitments and agreed deliverables.
  • Maintain visibility of key initiatives and actively manage competing priorities.

Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Lead business improvement initiatives designed to create greater consistency, effectiveness and scalability across the service line.
  • Develop practical frameworks, guidance materials, processes and tools that support national execution.
  • Use stakeholder feedback, data and business insights to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support implementation of operational and organisational transformation initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

  • Build strong relationships with Partners, Directors and support functions across the firm.
  • Collaborate closely with People & Culture, Digital, Finance, Marketing, Communications and Business Development, and National Quality & Excellence teams.
  • Influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation

Reporting & Insights

  • Gather, analyse and interpret business data to support decision-making.
  • Prepare executive reports, presentations, business cases, discussion papers and leadership updates.
  • Assist with strategic insights into workforce planning, resource management and financial forecasting initiatives

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in business operations, project delivery, business improvement and/or change management.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional or national projects and initiatives.
  • Experience working within a professional services environment.
  • Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing capability.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders effectively.
  • Ability to translate strategic concepts into practical actions and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
