He aha te tūranga - About the role:

As National Manager Digital Marketing and Engagement, you’ll lead the delivery and ongoing development of our digital marketing and engagement strategy, driving best-in-class digital experiences across the organisation, supporting multiple divisions including Fundraising, First Aid and Medical Products, Medical Alarms, and more.

Reporting to the General Manager Customer Experience and Marketing, you’ll be a specialist digital marketing and engagement leader who is as comfortable providing specialised technical expertise to the wider organisation as well as guiding a small but high-performing team to deliver meaningful, effective, digital marketing, and digital engagement activities.

This is a leadership role that blends strategy, delivery, and influence - ideal for someone who can see the big picture, bring others with them, translate insight into action and cares deeply about delivering great customer, donor, community, and patient outcomes.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Overseeing all external digital touchpoints including websites, mobile apps, paid social media campaigns, e-commerce marketing, email marketing, search marketing, and digital experience strategies
  • Partnering with both internal and external stakeholders to guide on best-practice digital marketing, digital channels and maximising MarTech investments
  • Driving personalisation, marketing automation, and smarter use of data to deepen engagement
  • Leading best practice initiatives for digital engagement, paid digital marketing activity and integrated campaign delivery
  • Coaching and mentoring a high-performance digital marketing team with a strong service and delivery mindset
  • Using data and analytics to ensure strong ROI and audience engagement across various platforms and campaigns
  • Managing digital marketing, team, and campaign budgets to maximise impact and value
  • Championing a strong, inclusive culture grounded in Hato Hone St John values

Qualifications

You’re a confident digital leader with strong strategic capability and the credibility to influence at all levels. You balance commercial acumen with purpose, and you’re passionate about creating digital experiences that genuinely make a difference.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven people leadership experience in digital marketing, engagement or experience design
  • Experience within the Salesforce ecosystem, including Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud and Personalisation
  • Confidence in Google Analytics, Meta, LinkedIn advertising with a future mindset for upcoming digital marketing products and trends
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally in large organisations
  • Experience with data-driven marketing, personalisation and marketing automation
  • A collaborative, people-first leadership style that builds capability and engagement
  • A commitment to health equity, cultural safety and inclusive practice
