Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the National Key Account Manager professionally promotes and sells Trouw Nutrition value proposition and services to existing and potential customers and establishes and maintains good relations with customers. The National Key Account Manager responsible for the private label accounts contributes to, implements, and realizes the sales/account plan for our private label business, helps establish marketing and pricing measures, prepares and quotes customers, in order to advise customers appropriately and to conclude the sale of product.

What you'll do
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the National Key Account Manager professionally promotes and sells Trouw Nutrition's value proposition and services to existing and potential customers while establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships. With a focus on private label pet food accounts, you will contribute to, implement, and execute sales and account plans, support marketing and pricing initiatives, prepare and present customer quotations, and provide strategic account management services that contribute to customer success and business growth.
You will be responsible for managing major national grocery and mass pet food private label accounts, including new product development initiatives, pricing and promotional activities, customer meetings, portal management, and ongoing account development. You will identify and pursue new business opportunities, strengthen existing customer relationships, and work cross-functionally to support customer needs while delivering sales growth.

You are an experienced sales and account management professional who excels at building strategic customer relationships and identifying opportunities for growth. You understand customer needs and can translate those needs into practical solutions that deliver value for both the customer and the business.
You are highly organized, commercially minded, and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You are skilled in negotiation, communication, project management, and collaboration, and can effectively engage stakeholders across customer organizations and internal teams. You take ownership of results, demonstrate strong business acumen, and are motivated by delivering exceptional customer experiences and commercial success.
You'll also need
- Post-secondary education in Business, Animal Science, or a related field, combined with relevant practical experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree and relevant sales training preferred
- 4-6 years of sales and account management experience
- Experience managing business-to-business customer relationships
- Experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
- Experience working with private label products and national retail accounts
- Experience with FMDC and retail customer environments
- Strong negotiation, presentation, contractual, and relationship-building skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, CRM systems, customer portals, and GS1 platforms
- Strong understanding of sales processes, account planning, and customer development
- In-depth understanding of business environments and sales financials
- Demonstrated ability to build and retain customer relationships
- Ability and willingness to travel as required
- Bilingualism in French and/or Spanish is considered an asset
