Position Summary

As the Category Captain for flavored sparkling water in the United States, we leverage consumer, shopper, retail, and market intelligence to drive category growth for our retail partners. The Data Analyst Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in transforming syndicated and customer data into actionable business insights that influence retailer decisions and support company growth objectives.

This position is responsible for leading a team of analysts in the development of category reviews, business reviews, customer presentations, and strategic recommendations for national and regional retail customers. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills with exceptional storytelling abilities, using data from NielsenIQ (NIQ), SPINS, Numerator, retailer point-of-sale data, and other sources to build compelling, insight-driven presentations.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry, is highly proficient with syndicated data platforms, and has demonstrated success supporting sales, category management, and customer strategy initiatives.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Essential Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a small team of analysts responsible for customer insights, category reporting, and presentation development.
  • Establish priorities and workload assignments to ensure timely completion of customer deliverables.
  • Develop analytical capabilities and presentation standards across the team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring.

Category & Customer Insights

  • Analyze and interpret data from NielsenIQ (NIQ), SPINS, Numerator, Circana/IRI, retailer POS systems, panel data, and internal sales data.
  • Identify category trends, consumer purchasing behaviors, distribution opportunities, pricing dynamics, and competitive threats.
  • Deliver actionable recommendations to support growth of the flavored sparkling water category.
  • Monitor market performance and provide regular updates on category and brand trends.

Customer Presentation Development

  • Lead the creation of:
  • Category Reviews
  • Business Reviews
  • Joint Business Planning presentations
  • Customer-specific opportunity analyses
  • Sales presentations
  • Retailer line review presentations
  • Executive-level performance summaries
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling stories that resonate with retail buyers and category managers.
  • Ensure presentations are visually engaging, fact-based, and aligned with retailer objectives.

Sales & Category Management Support

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Supply Chain teams to develop customer-facing recommendations.
  • Support national and regional account teams with data-driven selling stories.
  • Identify assortment, pricing, promotional, merchandising, and distribution opportunities.
  • Participate in customer meetings and presentations as the category insights subject matter expert.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain recurring reporting packages, dashboards, and scorecards.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of all customer-facing analytics.
  • Standardize reporting methodologies and analytical processes.
  • Continuously improve reporting efficiency through automation and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in category management, shopper insights, business analytics, sales analytics, or customer insights within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting major retail customers through category management and syndicated data analysis.
  • Experience developing and delivering executive-level customer presentations.

Required Industry Expertise

  • Strong working knowledge of syndicated data platforms, including:
  • NielsenIQ (NIQ)
  • SPINS
  • Numerator
  • Circana/IRI (preferred)
  • Experience analyzing:
  • Retail POS data
  • Household panel data
  • Shopper insights data
  • Distribution metrics
  • Pricing and promotion effectiveness
  • Category performance metrics

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formulas, and data modeling.
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills with the ability to build visually compelling and persuasive presentations.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms preferred.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple large datasets and synthesize findings into executive-level recommendations.
