About the role

The Administrative Team Leader provides strategic and operational support to the Associate Director School Operations, the National Head of School, and the school leadership team to ensure the effective delivery of administrative services. The role oversees governance, compliance, and day-to-day operational functions while leading and developing administrative staff. It also promotes collaboration across teams and optimises resources to support the school’s objectives and the University's broader goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative advice and operational support to the Associate Director School Operations, National Head of School, and senior stakeholders on governance, policy, financial, HR, and business matters.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the school’s administrative team to ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality administrative services that support teaching, research, and business operations.
  • Oversee key operational functions, including recruitment and onboarding, HR administration, facilities and resource management, financial management and budget support, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating across university functions to support School objectives and service delivery.
  • Drive strategic initiatives, continuous improvement, and process optimisation by reviewing, developing, and implementing enhanced administrative systems and operational practices.
  • Monitor performance, provide coaching and professional development opportunities, and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with at least four years' relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing multidisciplinary administrative teams, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture across complex environments.
  • Strong organisational, administrative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver projects, interpret policies, and provide operational, financial, and planning advice.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, budget planning, resource allocation, risk management, and overseeing administrative operations within a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse internal and external partners and deliver high-quality client service.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and continuous improvement capabilities, including experience implementing new systems, streamlining processes, and driving operational excellence.
