
Reporting to the Manager, National Accounts Operations Support, the Data Validation Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing procedures to enhance the accuracy, quality, and integrity of US National Accounts data. The role will support the US National Accounts department by collaborating with other National Accounts users and database developers to resolve quality and integrity issues, performing data audits, identifying enhancements for data collection and storage procedures, and preparing reports
Key Responsibilities:
• Gather data from multiple data sources to identify inconsistencies, redundancies, overlaps, and create an approach for improving the data quality and integrity
• Identify data integrity and quality issues, including data exceptions, and make necessary corrections to remediate issues
• Document, maintain, and communicate standardized procedures for data entry as well as data validation
• Audit data setup performed by Implementation team and other US National Accounts users in accordance with established review and validation procedures
• Provide feedback to National Accounts users on how to improve data entry and reduce errors and work with Operations Support to craft appropriate training materials for new employees with data entry responsibilities
• Quickly identify unexpected changes made to account data, perform root cause analyses to inform management, and propose remediation plans
• Report findings to management to inform business decisions, resolve and mitigate data issues, and prioritize information system needs
• Collaborate with end users and database developers, as appropriate, to improve data collection, storage, quality, and validation processes
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
• 1-3 years of experience in data validation, auditing, and/or quality improvement
• Working knowledge of data analysis techniques, data quality remediation, and best practices for maintaining data quality
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Affinity for working with data and paying attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, with significant experience using Excel
• Minimum of high school diploma or GED, though associate or bachelor’s degree in a computer related field is desired
• Knowledge of and/or experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) to create queries against databases is a plus
• Exposure to or experience maintaining and consolidating multiple databases across a large enterprise technology platform is a plus
• Knowledge of waste and environmental services industry is a plus
• Working knowledge of Trux and/or Tower applications is a plus
