We transform waste into resources and renewable energy. When you start to think of waste as a resource, it opens a world of possibilities.
As a high growth, ASX listed organisation with over 10,000 employees, our goal is to be recognised by our customers as the most innovative and sustainable waste management company with industry leading HSE performance. We are Australia’s largest company in this sector, providing essential services to millions of customers and communities nationally.
The Opportunity
We’re seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded National Account Manager to lead and grow a portfolio of high-value, enterprise customers across Cleanaway’s full waste management offering.
This is a pivotal role focused on driving retention, optimising contracts, and unlocking long-term growth opportunities. You’ll operate as a trusted partner to your customers, bringing together multiple service lines and internal stakeholders to deliver cohesive, value-led solutions at a national level.
Given the scale and structure of these accounts, success in this role comes from building influence beyond face-to-face interactions. You’ll confidently manage relationships across geographically dispersed stakeholders, using structured account planning, virtual engagement, and disciplined CRM management to drive outcomes and visibility across your portfolio.
What You’ll Be Doing
About You
You are a seasoned account management professional who thrives in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. You bring a strategic lens to your customer portfolio, balancing commercial outcomes with long-term relationship value. Comfortable navigating ambiguity, you know how to influence at a senior level and bring together internal capabilities to deliver meaningful results for your customers.
Highly organised and data-driven, you leverage CRM and structured account planning to stay ahead, ensuring no opportunity is missed and every commitment is delivered. You’re equally comfortable leading high-stakes negotiations as you are engaging stakeholders virtually, recognising that managing national accounts requires consistency, discipline, and proactive communication.
