Job Description

Acuren is currently recruiting for a NACE Level 2 Coatings Inspector, to support operations at the LNG site in Kitimat, BC!

Position Details:

Site/Location: LNG in Kitimat, BC. Relocation is required!

Start Date: Immediate

Shift/Hours 40 hrs./week and possible overtime

Hourly Rate: Up to $58.00/hr. depending on certifications and experience

Relocation: We are able to offer up to 3 months of temporary housing to assist with your relocation transition, if required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform coating and corrosion inspections on piping, tanks, and structural steel in accordance with NACE/AMPP, CSA, and project specifications.
  • Conduct surface preparation checks, environmental monitoring, DFT readings, adhesion testing, and holiday detection.
  • Identify coating defects and non-conformance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Complete accurate inspection reports, daily logs, and turnover documentation.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with quality standards, safety procedures, and inspection hold points.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and coating procedures to verify proper application.
  • Coordinate with project teams and clients to support quality assurance and resolve issues.
  • Maintain inspection tools, calibration records, and ensure safe work practices at all times.

Requirements

  • NACE Level 2 certification (AMPP Coating Inspector Program preferred).
  • 2+ years of coatings inspection experience in oil & gas or industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of surface preparation standards, coating systems, and inspection methods (DFT, adhesion testing, holiday detection, environmental monitoring).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and coating procedures.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (NACE/AMPP, SSPC, CSA, ASTM).
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  • Valid safety certifications (e.g., H2S Alive, WHMIS, CSTS/OSSA or site-specific safety tickets) considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in field environments, including industrial sites, shutdowns, and remote locations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with contractors, clients, and project teams.
  • Physically able to perform inspections in varying weather and site conditions.
