The International
Potato Center (CIP), on behalf of the Landscape Alliance (CIFOR & ICRAF in
action) Communications, Outreach and Engagement Unit (COE), requires the
support of a Communications Specialist to strengthen the planning, coordination
and implementation of strategic communications and outreach activities for
Latin America.

Alliance:

Landscape Alliance is the operating name of the Center for
International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and the International Centre for
Research on Agroforestry (ICRAF). Landscape Alliance transforms science into
action, unlocking the power of trees, forests and agroforestry landscapes to
advance planetary health and human well-being. CIFOR and ICRAF are independent
International Organizations and CGIAR Research Centers.


About
the position:

The position will work
closely with the Latin America Communications Coordinator and the Peru and
Latin America research teams to ensure timely, high-quality and impactful
communications that effectively translate science and project outcomes for
diverse audiences. The role will also coordinate with the global Social Media
Coordinator, outreach peers in Africa and Asia, and project leaders across the
region to plan, adapt, translate and implement communications strategies that
enhance visibility, stakeholder engagement and measurable impact for Landscape
Alliance and its projects. This position will be based in Lima, Peru.


Key
responsibilities:


·

Manage editorial planning and content
development for the Los Bosques al Día portal, including identifying opportunities
for translation, original content production, story pitching, and supporting
the outreach team in achieving annual outreach goals.

·

Strategically manage social media channels by
planning and producing content, visuals, campaigns, paid content and innovative
outreach approaches that drive audience growth, visibility and engagement.

·

Support research teams in documenting and
communicating activities, results, contributions and impact through strategic
communications and outreach products.

·

Cover events, conferences and institutional
activities involving Landscape Alliance teams, translating key discussions and
outcomes into dissemination and engagement products.

·

Produce newsletters, presentations and other
corporate communication materials in Spanish.

·

Coordinate and liaise with the COE production
team to support the development and delivery of knowledge and communications
products.

·

Prepare quarterly reports on communications
performance, analytics and achievements, and propose strategic improvements and
innovations.


Requirements


What
are we looking for?


·

Bachelor’s degree in communications or
journalism or a related field.

·

Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience
working in communications for development.

·

Languages: Full professional proficiency in
Spanish; working knowledge of English.

·

Desirable: Familiar with forestry, agroforestry,
and environmental matters and initiatives. Familiar with scientific
communication.
