We are seeking a passionate and dynamic MYP English Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in English language and literature, along with a deep understanding of inquiry-based learning aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). You will play a pivotal role in fostering critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication skills among students.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging, student-centered English lessons in line with the IB MYP framework.
• Develop unit plans that integrate key concepts, global contexts, and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills.
• Teach a range of English components including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, literature analysis, and oral communication.
• Encourage students to explore diverse texts, develop interpretative skills, and express ideas confidently.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student well-being and academic growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and contribute to curriculum development.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
• Stay updated with IB standards and best practices in English education.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong expertise in English teaching, including grammar, writing, and literature.
• Familiarity with IB MYP curriculum and assessment criteria (preferred but not mandatory).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans that promote inquiry and critical thinking.
• Proficiency in integrating technology into classroom instruction.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Passion for continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching certification or relevant qualification (B.Ed. or equivalent preferred).
• IB training or certification is an added advantage.

Experience:

• 2 to 10 years of experience teaching English, preferably in an IB or international school setting.
• Experience in handling middle school students (Grades 6–10) is highly desirable.
