Inspired Group is seeking to appoint an experienced teacher of Music to join a well-established Arts Department at the International School of Siena in Italy in August 2026. Applicants must have experience of teaching music, preferably within a school context, to children aged 3-14. The role may involve teaching a second subject depending on candidate qualifications and the needs of the timetable.

As the IB PYP and MYP Drama teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment and promoting student growth through inquiry-based learning. Your passion for Performing Arts and commitment to excellence will contribute to the success of our students. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support a positive and strong school community through the implementation of the IS Siena Positive Behaviour Policy, the pastoral programme and our mission and values.
  • Deliver dynamic, creative, and enjoyable music classes to students aged 4 to 16 years old.
  • Align music instruction with the IB curriculum standards for both PYP and MYP.
  • Create suitable assessment materials and ensure students’ progress according to their abilities.
  • Seek opportunities for trans-disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches, especially related to Units of Inquiry.
  • Use effective assessment criteria in line with IBO requirements.
  • Utilize external and internal data to improve student learning.
  • Contribute to school development through active participation in staff professional development.
  • Participate in school productions , assemblies and arts events throughout the year.
  • Collaborate on the school Graduation ceremony.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • a university degree in a related subject and an appropriate teaching qualification;
  • to have had recent experience successfully teaching the subject within the 11-16 age range;
  • to be enthusiastic and passionate, showing a love of the arts and having the ability to convey this successfully to students of all abilities;
  • Excellent time management and project management skills;
  • A firm understanding of the importance of personalised learning in an inclusive environment.
