Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, the Music Therapist develops, implements, co-ordinates and evaluates music therapy programs. Position also maintains an active clinical caseload providing assessment, treatment, documentation and education. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and approved research, provides formal and informal consultations to other staff and supervises and evaluates the work activities of music therapy practicum students and interns. Collaborates with the Manager or designate regarding operational issues as related to the provision of music therapy. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Bachelor Degree of Music Therapy. Eligible for full, accredited membership in the Canadian Association for Music Therapy. One year of recent, related experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally and in writing.Ability to supervise.Ability to interact effectively with others.Ability to organize workload and set priorities.General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety. Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.Ability to operate related equipment.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
