The Ministry of Arts, Culture and Status of Women work to improve Albertans’ quality of life through support of cultural development, historical preservation, and increased gender equality. We support the development and sustainability of Alberta's creative and cultural industries, artists and arts community, and non-profit / voluntary sector, and increase gender equality by working with all other ministries to make sure gender and other identity factors are reflected in Alberta government policies, programs, and legislation
Cultural Industries Branch
The Cultural Industries Branch, within the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Status of Women, works to grow and support Alberta’s creative economy including the music sector, book and magazine publishing industries and Alberta’s film and television sector.
The newly created Alberta Music Commission will champion the provincial music industry and lead the implementation of the Alberta Music Action Plan, which sets out key priorities to advance growth of Alberta’s music industry.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Cultural Industries, you will serve as the provincial government’s expert on the music industry. In this role, you will lead the implementation of the Alberta Music Action Plan and advance strategic initiatives that support the growth of Alberta’s music sector, in alignment with the Minister’s mandate.
As a key liaison, advocate, and strategist, you will foster collaboration across government, industry stakeholders, and communities to achieve measurable economic and cultural outcomes. You will provide strategic direction on emerging issues, support multi-stakeholder initiatives, and establish best practices, processes, and policies to position Alberta’s music industry for both immediate and long-term success.

University graduation in Arts, Business or in a field related to the position assignment, supplemented by six years progressively responsible experience.
Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.

This is a full-time, onsite position with a work schedule of 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
