Role Responsibilities

Help visitors take a piece of the Museum experience home. As a Museum Shop Associate, you'll play an important role in creating memorable visitor experiences through exceptional customer service, engaging retail displays, and unique merchandise that connects guests to Alberta's history, culture, and natural heritage.

The Museum Shop is more than a retail space. It is an extension of the visitor experience. In this role, you will help drive revenue that supports Museum operations while ensuring every guest receives welcoming, knowledgeable service and leaves with a lasting reminder of their visit.

You will be responsible for:

• Delivering exceptional customer service and responding to visitor inquiries.
• Promoting and selling Museum merchandise to enhance the visitor experience.
• Maintaining appealing, well-stocked, and organized product displays.
• Supporting daily retail operations, including cash handling and sales transactions.
• Monitoring shop inventory and replenishing merchandise as required.
• Contributing to loss prevention efforts and safeguarding Museum assets.
• Ensuring the Museum Shop remains clean, welcoming, and visually engaging for visitors.

Qualifications

Required:

• A minimum of a high school education is required.

Must-Haves:

• Related experience in retail, tourism, or hospitality.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Experience handling cash and basic accounting procedures.

Additional Position Details:

• Term of Employment: Temporary wage position(s) until March 31, 2027
• Hours of Work: Up to 36.25 hours per week - Evening and weekend shift premiums available.
• Location: Edmonton.
