Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Murex Tech Support Specialist to provide Level 2 and Level 3 application support for a top-tier financial institution. This role requires deep expertise in Murex platform architecture, Unix/Linux systems, and database management to support critical EOD batch jobs and trading infrastructure.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for Murex platform, including troubleshooting application issues, EOD batch job failures, and system performance problems
• Debug Murex services and datamart reports; analyze logs and traces to identify root causes and implement solutions
• Manage release and environment configuration, including binary upgrades, backup and restore procedures, and production deployments
• Administer Unix/Linux infrastructure, disk space, and memory management; troubleshoot operating system-level issues and optimize system performance
• Write and maintain Unix shell scripts, Python, and Perl scripts for automation, monitoring, and operational tasks
• Support incident and problem management processes; document issues, resolutions, and knowledge base articles for operational continuity
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on trade life cycle systems, fixed income, and derivative product support

Requirements

• 10–15 years of experience with Murex platform and Mx Architecture in a banking or financial services environment
• Advanced proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems, including shell scripting, system administration, and troubleshooting
• Strong SQL and Oracle database skills; experience with database tuning, query optimization, and backup/restore operations
• Expertise in Python and Perl scripting; experience with Job Scheduler and Unix/Linux tools for batch job automation
• Proficiency with SVN, JIRA, and release management tools
• Knowledge of trade life cycle processes, fixed income products, and derivative instruments in capital markets
• Excellent analytical and debugging skills with strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, production-support environment
