Job Description

Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, The Departments of Pharmacology and Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology invite applications for multiple tenure-line faculty positions, at all ranks, from candidates with expertise in cancer cell biology. Relevant fields of inquiry include bioinformatics, computational biology, DNA damage response, and signal transduction- especially in the areas of molecular pharmacology and radiation biology

The successful candidate will become a member of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC) in the Cancer Cell Biology Program (CCB) with an appointment in the Department of Pharmacology or Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology. The CCB Program includes 37 members from 11 departments across Georgetown University. The goal of CCB is to identify and develop transformative basic science that can be leveraged for translation, such as identification of biomarkers and therapeutic targets, which will enhance therapeutic options for cancer patients. We achieve this goal through a focus on two Specific Aims, engendered by robust cancer biology and clinical investigator collaboration across the LCCC. These Aims are to: 1) Understand therapeutic vulnerabilities within cancer-related genetic, epigenetic, and DNA damage response mechanisms, 2) Elucidate druggable steps within cancer signal transduction networks. The LCCC is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, which also includes our consortium partner at the John Theurer Cancer Center of Hackensack Meridian Health in Hackensack, New Jersey. REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have a PhD and or MD degree in a relevant field. Applicants should have a record of strong scholarship and active peer-reviewed funding with a cancer focus. Successful candidates will have a record that positions them to be eligible to apply for tenure or provides clear evidence of a research trajectory eventually leading to tenure. SALARY

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position is $140,000 - $350,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, rank and credentials as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
