Job Role & Responsibilities
As a contract maintenance engineer, you will support continuous factory operations through effective reactive and planned maintenance. The role also plays a key part in driving site improvements relating to machinery performance, quality, hygiene, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance across site equipment
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns with urgency
Deliver planned preventative maintenance to a high standard
Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades
Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
Ensure compliance with current electrical and industrial regulations
Apply RCA techniques to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence
The Ideal Candidate will have
Completed an engineering apprenticeship (Electrical & Mechanical)
NVQ Level 3 or above / ONC / HNC in a relevant engineering discipline
18th Edition electrical qualification
Strong hands-on electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience
Experience working in an FMCG or food manufacturing environment (preferred)
Knowledge of UK and industrial electrical regulations
PLC diagnostic experience (no programming required)
A methodical, safety-focused approach to problem solving
