Job Description

Job Role & Responsibilities

A hands-on Night Shift Engineer role within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment, focused on keeping production running smoothly through effective reactive and planned maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on food processing and packaging machinery

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults on production equipment

  • Support line start-ups, changeovers, and overall night shift operations

  • Complete PPM schedules and engineering documentation accurately

  • Work in line with health, safety, food hygiene, and site procedures

The Ideal Candidate will have

  • Time-served experience or a Level 3 qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled)

  • Background in FMCG or food manufacturing environments

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and confidently on night shifts

  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards

Desirable Skills

  • Multi-skilled engineering capability

  • Experience with continuous improvement or reliability-focused maintenance

  • Familiarity with modern manufacturing equipment and systems

Benefits Include

  • Salary of up to £51,000 per annum

  • 4 on 4 off night shift pattern (18:00–06:00)
