
Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

£40,000 – £45,000 (inclusive of shift allowance)
Working Pattern
12-hour shifts – 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am
Rotating days and nights
Typical rotation:
Week 1 (Days): Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2 (Days): Wednesday, Thursday
Pattern then repeats on nights
Provides full 24/7 engineering coverage
The Role
Join a high-quality manufacturing site operating in a technically demanding, safety-critical environment. This role offers a strong electrical bias (approx. 60%) with mechanical support (approx. 40%), working on automated production equipment where uptime, reliability, and standards genuinely matter.
You’ll be part of a shift-based engineering team responsible for breakdowns, fault-finding, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical and mechanical maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment
Electrical fault-finding on motors, drives, sensors, and control systems
PLC hardware and logic fault diagnosis
Planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance
Accurate use of a CMMS
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Work to strict health, safety, and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
Strong electrical fault-finding experience in an industrial environment
PLC fault-finding capability
CMMS experience
Good mechanical aptitude
Understanding of variable speed drives and servo systems
Desirable:
18th Edition
Lean / Kaizen / Six Sigma exposure
Experience in high-quality or regulated manufacturing
