Starting pay $44.86 /hr. and offers a competitive benefits package

Georgia Pacific seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician IV to support our Corrugated Packaging facility in La Mirada, CA In this role, you will apply and continue developing your skills in industrial electrical, process controls, and mechanical crafts As part of the Reliability Team, you will help drive the facility’s goals for safety, equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and profitability by completing scheduled preventive maintenance and responding to unplanned downtime with effective troubleshooting and repairs.

  • This position offers a competitive benefits package with an hourly rate of $44.86
  • Shift: 6:00 pm – 6:00 am

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Promote a safe work environment by following all plant safety and environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team and communicate effectively with operations and leadership to troubleshoot issues, restore equipment, and prevent repeat failures.
  • Perform routine and scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) to support equipment reliability.
  • Promptly respond to unplanned downtime calls using focused troubleshooting and timely repairs.
  • Document daily work performed with time, parts used, and comments in the CMMS.
  • Apply high-level knowledge and skills of industrial electrical and process control systems.
  • Use specialized multimeter, amperage meter, and megaohm meter features to diagnose and repair electrical system issues.
  • Apply high-level knowledge and skills to maintain, diagnose, and repair power transmission systems.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and follow through on commitments.
  • Demonstrate a self-directed, disciplined work style and take ownership of results.
  • Openly share knowledge within the department to increase technical abilities of others.
  • Work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Provide basic hand tools and a rolling toolbox.


The Experience You Will Bring

Basic Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.
  • Experience using manufacturer diagnostic software to load, modify and save programs and parameters with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Lenze programmable logic controllers and frequency drives.
  • Experience repairing and performing root cause corrective action with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic power transmission systems in an industrial setting.
  • Experience performing and documenting precision alignments and measurements with mechanical power transmission systems.
  • Advanced ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong CMMS experience, including work-order documentation and equipment history tracking.


What Will Put You Ahead

Preferred Qualifications

  • Maintenance experience in a corrugated packaging operation.
  • Technical degree, apprenticeship, or certificate in electrical, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
  • Advanced industrial electrical diagnostic skills, including read 3-phase power distribution, 3-phase motor controls, programming frequency drives VFDs.
  • Experience programming PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
  • Proficient knowledge of industrial automation and robotics systems (FANUC, Kawasaki).


For this role, we anticipate paying $44.86 per hour.
