Job Description

Are you a hands-on troubleshooter who thrives in a fast-paced production environment? As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be a vital part of our team—keeping equipment running at peak performance and ensuring our operations never miss a beat.


Mayfield Ice Cream is seeking a skilled and driven Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join our team on 2nd shift (2PM - 11PM). In this critical role, you'll be part of the backbone of our production process—performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and responding to line calls to ensure our machinery runs efficiently to support the production of our delicious ice cream products.


With a strong mechanical strong background, you'll work across multiple departments to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and reliability. Your expertise will help ensure our equipment performs at its best, keeping our commitment to excellence intact from the first bite to the final scoop.

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday - Friday, 2PM - 11PM + overtime as required for special projects

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in or degree received from trade or technical school preferred and/or at least 1 year of multi-craft maintenance work experience including any/all of the following: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC, NH3 refrigeration
  • Experience in food, or beverage manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of or experience working on a variety of mechanical manufacturing equipment, including motors, relays, rollers, conveyors
  • Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • MAY BE EXPOSED TO FOOD ALLERGENS
  • Knowledge of charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams
  • Able to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment downtime
  • Able to use a variety of maintenance tools, hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in a safe manner
  • Able to perform complex or complicated maintenance activities/repairs independently
  • Able to complete projects from planning to installation
  • Able to present options and ideas to current processes or procedures
  • Able to adapt and manage to change effectively
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and take appropriate steps to find solutions to problems
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
