Job Title Lead Medical Technologist (or Lead Medical Laboratory Technician)
A senior lab professional who performs high-complexity diagnostic tests and oversees operational, quality assurance, and staff-training responsibilities in a clinical lab setting. Acts as lead in supervisor’s absence.
Essential Duties
Run and validate clinical assays (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank, etc.).
Maintain QC, proficiency testing, and instrument calibration.
Coordinate staff, schedules, and daily workflow.
Train and assess technical competency of staff.
Act as technical contact for troubleshooting and liaising with healthcare teams.
Develop/maintain SOPs, lead QA projects, and manage accreditation readiness.
Assist in hiring/evaluations and cover supervisory duties when needed.
Qualifications
Education: MT—Bachelor’s + certification; MLT Lead—Associate/Bachelor’s + MLT certification.
Experience: ≥ 3 years in clinical lab; leadership/SOP experience desired.
Skills: Advanced analytical, organizational, communication, MS Office, regulatory knowledge.
