Job Description



Assembles manufactured and purchased components to meet the specifications as indicated by engineering, assembly and customer requirements. Assemblies may include complex arrangements and may require fitting and adjustment to meet close tolerances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following; other duties may be assigned.

• Required to work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company Health and Safety and Other Policies

• Develop skills to mentor (including feedback on skills and behavior), and provide guidance on safe work practices for less experienced MTBI’s and apprentice

• Assemble manufactured and purchased components to meet the specifications as indicated by assembly drawings. Assemblies may include complex arrangements and may require fitting and adjustment to meet close tolerances.

• Assist and advise apprentices and Level 1 Assemblers

• Assume responsibility for the complete assembly, installation and validation of machine systems

• Travel to installation site

• Additional hours may be required for scheduled or unscheduled onsite customer service on evenings or weekends

• All above duties to be performed in a timely manner and in an ISO 9001 environment

Position Requirements: (Knowledge, Skill, Ability)

• Must have good math and communication skills

• Must have a good mechanical aptitude and be familiar with measurement tools

• Must have the ability to read blueprints, operate hand tools, work independently and with others, take direction and receive constructive criticism

• Ability to direct small teams and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults


Autonomy and Authority:

• Work without detailed supervision, but within clear guidelines, defined standards and specifications. Difficult, complex or unusual matters are referred to more senior authority.

• Assume responsibility for the complete assemble, debug and install of small to medium sized machines

• Assist and advise apprentices and Level 1 Assemblers

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Minimum requirement of Ministry Trades Certificate of Qualification and 4 years experience or 8 years equivalent experience.

• Basic Shop Safety Rules and Knowledge of duties under OHSA & WSIB

• Must have a valid passport and driver’s license, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally

• Must be available to travel for periods of up to 3 weeks

Special Requirements (physical demands and work environment): Must be physically able to assemble automated machinery from standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching and prone positions. Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment. Frequent heavy lifting required. May be exposed to medium to high noise levels.

The expected compensation range for this position is $35.42 - $39.85. This range includes base pay and target variable pay. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. This range reflects the expected full compensation range for the role; most offers will fall within the range and not at the maximum in order to allow for future growth
