Requisition Summary
The ideal candidate is one that is proactive collaborating with suppliers and local manufacturing support service providers to ensure optimal material flow to the Chillicothe plant. This individual will drive for continuous improvement in all material related systems, planning, inventory control, and sourcing projects. This candidate will also be responsible to ensure the Plan-For-Every-Part Process (PFEP), MSS contractual enforcement and cost savings initiatives are executed timely. Close monitoring and management of daily KPI’s, high attention to detail, and MRP system knowledge/experience is critical to providing accurate root cause analysis and continuous improvement solutions.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
• Manage, execute, and oversee the PFEP (Plan for Every Part) workflow application and transactions
• Support MSS sourcing projects and collaborate with materials and production teams for implementation timelines and strategies
• Lead cost cutting projects with the MSS team to control plant spending and determine optimal material flow
• Ensure MSS contracts are enforced and chargebacks are appropriately and timely distributed
• Conduct shortage reduction workshops/training and adopt best practice solutions as a result
• Onboard and mentor new MSS Coordinators or other team members
• Provide plant management with routine inventory/sourcing/MSS metrics
• Coordinates 3/10 projects with MSS coordinators to improve quality and delivery
• Ensure team and individual Six Sigma goals are met or exceeded
• Plan, organize, and implement material delivery procedures to meet production schedule requirements and timelines.
• Provide coverage for MSS area manager
• Flexible working off-shift hours and weekends for project implementations and issue resolutions (as needed)
• Incorporate Best Practice systems within KWC’s material delivery network
• Perform other projects and assignments as may be required
Education/Qualifications/Skills
• Four-year degree in business administration, supply chain management, project management required
• 3-5 years’ experience and proven success in a managerial/supervisory role relating to manufacturing, materials, or distribution
• Experience working with MRP manufacturing systems and statistical inventory management environments
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and issues
• Represents PACCAR in a professional manner exhibiting consistent and effective communication and team building skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong PC skills, including proficiency in COPICS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Minitab software is a plus
• Applicant should have a basic understanding of Six Sigma practices; Green belt/Lean belt certification preferred
• Applicants must be able to prioritize, successfully handle pressure, and work/make decisions independently when required
• Successful candidate is safety-conscious, self-motivated, a team player, and can think proactively.
• Candidate must have flexibility to support operational needs and travel to suppliers/support providers when needed.
