Job Description

To strengthen our Global Operations MSAT team, we are looking for a MSAT Test Engineer mainly responsible for ICP-MS factory test. In this role, you will act as the technical liaison between R&D, Quality and Manufacturing, translating product innovation into scalable, high performance Agilent’s products manufacturing in production site. You will contribute to maximize product output balancing with product specification.

ICP-MS is one of Agilent’s key analytical instruments used in chemical analysis and life science applications. The products are researched and developed in Japan, manufactured overseas, and supplied to customers worldwide. In this position, the successful candidate will work cross-functionally with teams in Japan and overseas and play a key role in connecting product development with volume manufacturing.

  • Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing test processes, test systems, inspection equipment, fixtures, and related production tools for ICP-MS products.
  • Define test strategies, review inspection requirements, and support production ramp-up for new product introduction.
  • Work with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, and overseas manufacturing sites to resolve technical issues.
  • Drive test automation, data utilization, yield improvement, and process capability improvement.
  • Support manufacturing transfer, technical deployment to overseas sites, and standardization of test processes.
  • Develop and improve inspection systems and production support systems using programming languages such as C#, and contribute to improvement activities that integrate hardware and software, including equipment control and robot control.

Qualifications

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Five or more years of practical experience in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing engineering, equipment development, product development, system development, or test system development.
  • Basic knowledge and practical experience in programming, software, equipment control, production systems, or inspection systems.
  • Experience solving technical issues in collaboration with multiple functions such as R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality.
  • Willingness and ability to communicate in English. TOEIC 600 or equivalent English capability is a general guideline.
  • Proficiency in Japanese communication.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Eight or more years of practical experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment development, product development, system development, or test system development.
  • Experience with analytical instruments, medical devices, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, vacuum systems, precision instruments, or factory automation equipment.
  • Experience with C#, VBA, embedded software, equipment control, robot control, or related technologies.
  • Experience in new product introduction, production ramp-up, product transfer, yield improvement, or process capability improvement.
  • Experience leading small project teams or driving improvement activities by engaging cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating, coordinating, or negotiating with overseas sites or suppliers.
  • Experience applying data analysis, statistical analysis, AI, or machine learning to process improvement or quality improvement.
  • Fluent Japanese.
  • Practical business communication ability in English. TOEIC 730 or equivalent English capability is a general guideline.

This job has a full time weekly schedule.
