Classification: Exempt

The MRO Planner’s primary role is to increase the utilization of the maintenance workforce. This maintenance professional will be key to planning maintenance and reliability jobs, so they are the most efficient and effective as possible. Minimizing wrench time on a job, removing wasted time not having the parts to do the job, and utilizing the many different skill sets we have.

Essential Functions:

  • Research and compile information and feedback from crafts necessary to generate highly effective and detailed job plans. Plan each job to include time to complete, tools required, parts and skill set needed. Maintaining the job plan file database, being a super user of the CMMS. Initiating the procurement of material, special tools and unique items required in the job plan. Reviewing all job plans at completion of job for accuracy of plan.

  • Transition capital improvement projects from project stage to operations. Update information in SAP to reflect the improvement, addition, movement or deletion of equipment and their associated spare parts and maintenance procedures, including PM creation, BOM creation, setup of documentation and safety protocols. Working with Supply room to audit spare part inventory and remove inventory that belongs to equipment that is being sold or scrapped.

  • Prepare and provide detailed job plans for preventative maintenance activities that comply with fundamental plant maintenance procedures and practices. Continuously auditing preventative maintenance schedules for accuracy and thoroughness. Using CI practices to address equipment failure modes with preventative maintenance.

  • Plan and schedule maintenance downtime and communicate cross functionally with technical and management teams to minimize production impact and improve reliability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance with 2+ years’ experience in the craft or 5+ years’ experience in the Industrial Maintenance craft.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills (including Microsoft Word & Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Continuous improvement experience like Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of SAP system.
  • Understanding operating context of site assets / process systems.
  • Familiar with Root Cause Analysis.
  • Familiar with Reliability Centered Maintenance.
  • Working and practical knowledge of applicable PdM technologies such as: Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Infra-Red, Ultrasound, and Motor Circuit Evaluation.

Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory duties.

Work Environment: Primarily office environment, with requirement to work in wide variations in environment temperature (-40-degree Freezers, 32-degree coolers, 40-degree production area, wet cold environment); noise, slippery floors and moving equipment in operations setting.

Physical Demands: Position will include extensive standing, sitting, lifting, climbing ladders, wearing factory required equipment while working in production, walking, visual, responding quickly to sounds and driving.

Position Type: This is an exempt role; may be asked to change schedule and work ‘off’-shifts.
