Post Primary Imaging Student Job Summary
CoxHealth recognizes and considers the Primary Advanced Imaging Student an asset to the clinical imaging in which they are training. Therefore, hiring primary advanced imaging students as they near the end of their training secures competent staff to fill open posted positions. The advanced imaging student assists and performs imaging/procedures in the advanced clinical area under the guidance of the certified advanced imaging staff.

MRI -Xray Technologist Job Summary
Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner(s) within all guidelines of MRI safety. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of MRI safety zones and practices all safety guidelines. Interview/screen patient for appropriateness of exam and patient history and documents such accurately. Explain MRI procedures to patient/family for ultimate success of exam. Administer appropriate contrast media intravenously and accurately evaluate images to ensure quality and diagnostic status of exam.

Post Primary Imaging Student Job Requirements

Education
▪ Required: Graduate (or currently enrolled) from an approved training program in advanced imaging
▪ Preferred: Completion of training program with scheduled date for certification
◦ Experience
▪ Preferred: One Year experience in Radiography, ARRT
◦ Skills
▪ CT
• Identify the CT protocol manual and accurately perform imaging/procedures per protocol to include proper use of department equipment
• Under the supervision of Registered CT staff able to assist in performance of CT imaging/procedures per protocol for facility specific areas of care
▪ IR
• Identify the IR protocol manual and accurately perform imaging/procedures per protocol to include proper use of department equipment
• Under the supervision of Registered IR staff able to assist in performance of IR imaging/procedures per protocol for facility specific areas of care
▪ MR
• Identify the MR protocol manual and accurately perform imaging/procedures per protocol to include proper use of department equipment
• Under the supervision of Registered MR staff able to assist in performance of MR imaging/procedures per protocol for facility specific areas of care
▪ NM
• Identify the NM protocol manual and accurately perform imaging/procedures per protocol to include proper use of department equipment
• Under the supervision of Registered NM staff able to assist in performance of NM imaging/procedures per protocol for facility specific areas of care
▪ US
• Identify the US protocol manual and accurately perform imaging/procedures per protocol to include proper use of department equipment
• Under the supervision of Registered US staff able to assist in performance of US imaging/procedures per protocol for facility specific areas of care
▪ RT
• Identify the RT protocol manual and accurately perform imaging/procedures per protocol to include proper use of department equipment Under the supervision of Registered RT staff able to assist in performance of US imaging/procedures per protocol for facility specific areas of care

▪ ECHO

• Identify the ECHO protocol manual and accurately perform imaging/procedures per protocol to include proper use of department equipment

• Under the supervision of Registered ECHO staff able to assist in performance of US imaging/procedures per protocol for facility specific areas of care

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Required: R.T. (R) (ARRT)

Required: R.T. (R) (CT) (ARRT) within 6 months of hire or graduation, whichever is last

MRI-Xray Technologist Job Requirements

Education:
▪ Required: Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology
▪ Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Certification in ARRT MR
Experience:
▪ Required: 1 year dedicated experience in MRI OR Graduate of an approved MRI training program and Registry Eligible
Skills:
▪ Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
▪ Knowledge of current MR technical information.
▪ Proficient in using computers and computer systems.
▪ Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills.
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
▪ Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
▪ ARRT - R
▪ ARRT - MR must be obtained within one year of hire date
