
MRI Technologist I (40 hrs/Evening)(Temple Chestnut Hill Hospital)-(256158)
The MRI technologist demonstrates an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, contrast agents, MRI safety and medical terminology. Maintains a high degree of accuracy in positioning and technique. The MRI technologist performs MRI procedures according to established protocols to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by the physician. Prepares and administers contrast at the direction of the radiologist in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Ensures the delivery of quality care in a safe environment for infant through adult patients. The MRI technologist remains sensitive to the physical, cultural and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills in a non-judgmental and nondiscriminatory manner. The MRI technologist engages in continuing education to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge and technical competence while embracing lifelong learning. The MRI technologist uses independent, professional and ethical judgment, along with critical thinking in performance of duties.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) and Non-Degree Program from an approved AMA Radiologic Technology Program or MRI Certificate program (Required)
