Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, also referred to as MRI Technologists,utilizemagnetic resonance imaging scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis. MRI Technologists must be able to closely follow a physician's instructions,prepareandoperateMRI equipment, position patients correctly, and effectively record the requested diagnostic images. Acaregiver in this positionworksweekend days from 6:00AM – 6:30PM, including oneweekdayper week.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Collaborate with department leadership to develop and implement methods to achieve established goals andobjectivesfor the department.
Maintaina safe,cleanand economical operation.
Coordinate andanswersquestionsregardingscheduling, networking,informaticsand patient information.
Complete and ensure that all electronic data is sent to itsappropriate destination
Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation,contactsservice if necessary.
Provide copies of imaging studiesin a timely manner
Perform routine imaging, emergent,invasiveand all special procedures according to the policy/protocol manual and written orders.
Maintain adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule.
Orient new personnel andassistin their transition to the work environment as assigned.
Aid other associates in the department upon completion of duties or as assigned by a supervisor.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standingORRegistered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standingORCertified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways)
American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) must be obtained within 12 months of hire/transfer
Basic Life Support (BLS)certificationthroughtheAmerican Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Knowledge of Federal and Stateregulatories
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Twoyearsofexperienceas an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting
