Available Schedule Options:

  • Five-8 hour shifts, 12pm-8:30pm (Monday-Friday)

  • Four-10 hour shifts (schedule TBD)


What you will do

  • Performs all basic MRI techniques and examinations according to the procedures determined by the Radiologists:

  • Maintains constant attention to patients assigned to the technologist for examination.

  • Produces optimal MRI images for the purpose of diagnostic interpretation.

  • Selects proper technical factors, coils, restraining devices and operated MRI equipment as directed.

  • Provides protection in accordance with prescribed MR safety standards to ensure the wellbeing of patients, hospital personnel, general public and self while performing any duties.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Identifies and archives patient's images. Maintains records of exams:

  • Responsible for proper identification on images including patient identification and patient demographics.

  • Maintains appropriate records of examinations and MRI procedure log.

  • Maintains the integrity and efficiency of the Radiology Information System.

  • Administration:

  • Subject to on-call status including weekends, holidays and other shifts as assigned.

  • Refers any complex issues/problems to the MRI Team Leader.

  • Fosters professionalism, continuing education and self-development.

  • Participates in the formal in-service program provided for Radiology Complex.

  • Responds promptly and positively to patients, families, associates, and all others in a respectful, courteous and confidential manner.

  • Always maintains identifiable/professional attire, including using nametags and ID cards.

  • Answers telephone calls.

  • Respects confidentiality of patients and co-workers in all circumstances.

  • Attends mandatory sessions/meetings/in-services and participates in staff meetings, committees, projects, and teams to resolve conflicts and meet institutional goals.

  • Attends mandatory education programs and identifies learning needs necessary to meet the requirements of the position.

  • Documents and reports all necessary education and training

  • Demonstrates knowledge of quality improvement values and participates in departmental quality improvement initiatives and other team projects.

  • Follows CHOP and departmental cost control standards - monitor usage of supplies and equipment to eliminate or minimize waste and/or misuse.

  • Provides or facilitates a clean, safe, quiet and secure environment for all:

  • Reports any incident that seems unusual/deficient to supervisor and/or Security.

  • Corrects and/or reports unsafe, unsecured or unclean environment to supervisor and/or Environmental, Health and Safety, or Facilities departments.

  • Keeps work area neat and organized.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED - Required

  • Technical Diploma Radiology or MRI Program - Required

Experience Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year MRI Experience - Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging MR (ARRT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - within 12 months - Required

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - issued through an organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross). - within 12 months - Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of all forms of MRI Imaging (Required proficiency)

  • Basic knowledge of information systems for transferring data (Preferred proficiency)

  • Basic knowledge of Radiology Information Systems (Preferred proficiency)

  • Works independently of supervision (Required proficiency)

  • Good organizational skills (Required proficiency)

  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills (Required proficiency)

  • Provides Family Centered Care (Required proficiency)

  • Integrates knowledge and assessment of child and family (Age-Specific Competency) (Required proficiency)

SALARY RANGE:

$35.70 - $45.51 Hourly

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
