Job Description

The Patient Representative is responsible for supporting front-end patient access functions within the MRI department, including accurate patient registration, collection and verification of demographic and financial information, and insurance verification. This role ensures required authorizations and pre-certifications are identified and obtained in accordance with payer guidelines while promoting data accuracy, compliance, and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

Education

Minimum:High School or equivalent.

Preferred:AAS degree in Medical Assistant/Secretarial Science or experience in business with emphasis on health care or related field. Medical Terminology.

Experience

Minimum: Previous business office or retail experience.

Preferred: One year related hospital, business, or physician office experience.

Other

Minimum: Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and organizational skills. Computer literacy.

Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point.
