Job Description

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be the primary technical lead for hardware quality in the region. You will oversee the end-to-end manufacturing quality lifecycle for our products, managing both Contract Manufacturers (CM) and Strategic Suppliers. This is a high-visibility role requiring a hands-on leader who can bridge the gap between US-based design teams and China-based production lines to ensure seamless NPI (New Product Introduction) and sustained mass production.

Key Responsibilities
Supplier & JDM Management: Lead quality engineering activities at CM/JDM sites and key component suppliers. Conduct regular audits and process sign-offs to ensure vendor compliance with global standards.
Production Ramp & NPI: Drive manufacturing readiness for new products. Partner with engineering to define Product Quality Plans (PQP), validate production readiness, and authorize production start-ups.
Operational Excellence: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance yield and operational efficiency. Monitor production line statistics and drive "Yield Bridge" activities to reach mass production targets.
Data-Driven Problem Solving: Lead deep-dive Failure Analysis (FA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Utilize 8D, Fishbone, FMEA, and other tools to identify and resolve complex technical issues and prevent recurrence.
Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the primary conduit between the factory floor and the US teams. Provide concise weekly status updates, data reports, and executive summaries on supplier performance.
Continuous Monitoring: Establish and monitor SPC (Statistical Process Control) and CPK trends. Implement "Error Proofing" (Poka-yoke) and standardized inspection protocols at supplier sites.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years of quality or manufacturing engineering experience in high-volume consumer electronics (robotics, drones, or other complicated consumer electronics products).
Education: BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Supplier Management: Proven track record of managing JDM/CM partners and Tier 2 component suppliers through full product lifecycles.
Technical Toolkit: Expert-level proficiency in Quality Management tools, including: Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
Problem Solving: 8D, Fishbone (Ishikawa), 5-Whys, and DOE (Design of
Experiments).
Language: Native-level fluency in Mandarin and professional working proficiency in English (capable of writing technical reports and leading meetings with US-based teams).
Travel: Ability to travel frequently in both China and other manufacturing locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry Background: Previous experience at a top-tier firm or a leading CM.
Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Black Belt.
Analytical Skills: Experience with data analysis software (JMP, Minitab, or Python) to visualize and interpret large manufacturing datasets.
Soft Skills: A "constructive driver" personality—capable of holding suppliers accountable while maintaining a collaborative and professional relationship.
