TITLE: Mountain School Sales Representative

LOCATION: Snowbird Center

STATUS: Seasonal, Full-time & Part-time, Hourly

SCHEDULE: Variable - 5-day work week (including weekends and holidays)

SUMMARY

As a Mountain School Sales Representative, you’ll be the first point of contact for guests seeking lessons and experiences at Snowbird. This role requires a balance of mental sharpness, emotional intelligence, and physical stamina. You’ll be responsible for booking lessons, processing payments, managing guest expectations, and supporting the Mountain School team—all while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Provide accurate, timely information about Mountain School programs and resort services, requiring strong memory recall, product knowledge, and verbal clarity.
  • Greet and assist guests at various sales and check-in locations, often during high-volume periods that demand mental focus and emotional resilience.
  • Use point-of-sale systems to book lessons, issue lift tickets, and process payments—requiring attention to detail, multitasking, and technical proficiency.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and instructors to manage lesson assignments, which involves real-time problem-solving and adaptability.
  • Respond to phone calls, voicemails, and emails with professionalism and empathy, even when handling guest complaints or complex requests.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming workspace to support mental clarity and workflow efficiency.
  • Occasionally assist with outdoor lesson check-ins, requiring physical readiness and weather tolerance.
  • Balance your register and complete clerical tasks with accuracy and consistency.
  • Support the Mountain School management team with additional tasks as needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • A confident, friendly, and emotionally intelligent approach to guest service, both in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to retain and communicate detailed information about programs, pricing, and resort logistics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general office equipment.
  • Experience with RTP and Flaik systems is a plus.
  • Previous experience in sales or customer service, ideally in the snowsports or hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with skiing or snowboarding is a bonus and encouraged.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and perform under pressure in a busy, often unpredictable environment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in cold, snowy conditions when needed.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and maintain mental focus despite frequent interruptions.
  • Must comply with uniform standards and scheduling requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to stay overnight at the resort, if necessary, due to weather or road closures.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 5-day work week, including weekends and holidays
  • Typical shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Season runs from Mid-November to Mid-April
  • Part-time positions may be available

PHYSICAL & MENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Primarily an indoor, guest-facing office environment with frequent interruptions, high noise levels, and constant multitasking.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, manual dexterity for computer use, and occasional outdoor work in winter conditions.
  • High guest volume and time-sensitive tasks can create stressful situations—you’ll need to remain calm, focused, and solution-oriented.
  • Success in this role depends on your ability to manage mental fatigue, maintain emotional balance, and deliver consistent service under pressure.

WHY WORK HERE

  • Free ski pass and comp ticket benefits
  • Employee discounts at Snowbird eateries, retail shops, lodging, daycare, and Mountain School
  • Medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance (based on position)
