As the Mountain Outfitters Coffee Shop Lead Hand, you support the Manager and Supervisor in overseeing daily operations. You lead by example—motivating a team, ensuring product quality, and delivering outstanding guest service. With strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach, you help create a welcoming, efficient, and high-performing café environment.
Essential functions:
• Provide on-the-floor leadership and support to coffee shop team members.
• Prepare and serve a variety of quality products, including specialty coffees, pastries, and alcoholic beverages.
• Maintain high standards for product presentation, efficiency, and cleanliness.
• Accurately operate multiple POS systems, including those for café and ski and snowboard repair transactions.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, ensuring readiness and smooth transitions.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
• Address and resolve product or service issues promptly and professionally.
• Follow and enforce all cash handling and security protocols.
• Work independently and keep operations flowing during quiet periods.
• Train and mentor team members, promoting service excellence and efficiency.
• Handle guest concerns with professionalism, always aiming to exceed expectations.
• Stay current on Panorama resort products, services, and promotions.
• Complete daily operational tasks such as merchandising, cleaning, checklists, and restocking.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Support rental shop operations as needed during busy periods.
Experience/Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous barista experience strongly preferred.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Positive, energetic, and guest-focused with strong communication skills.
• Strong cash handling skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Comfortable operating various POS and computer systems.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Must have (or be willing to obtain):
• Serving It Right certification
• Food Safe certification
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in British Columbia
