The resort features five fixed lifts, surface lift and a 3.1-mile gondola. Mountain Manager must have thorough knowledge of lift operations and repairs. Ability to troubleshoot problems as they arise. Must have excellent communication skills to keep the mountain working efficiently and in coordination with other departments. Be a proactive leader with a positive attitude that gets results and grows and educates his staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The overriding and most important function of each and every employee is to either directly (by interacting with the guest) or indirectly (by providing the key support role to the guest experience) strive to provide the finest in friendly service and quality products.
At all times operates within and enforces SILVER MOUNTAIN policy.
Overall operational responsibilities for Lift Maintenance, Patrol, Snowmaking, Vehicle Maintenance, Building Maintenance, Water and Sewer Systems, Snow Grooming and Gondola/Lift Operations.
Develop, write and communicate operation plans for the key operational elements of the business such as:
Chairlift and Gondola emergency procedures and evacuation.
Operating plans as necessary for Mountain Operations to meet ANSI and Industry standards.
Overseeing Safety Plans as necessary.
Responsible for all hiring and proper training of all new employees. Is aware of the duties of all employees to ensure proper training.
Ensures that all departments are adequately staffed at all times.
Responsible for the supervision and development of all supervisory personnel. This includes, but not limited to, periodic reviews, weekly management team meetings, goal setting meetings and follow-through.
Responsible for ensuring that the schedules for all employees are prepared properly and posted in a timely fashion.
Responsible for constantly motivating all employees to strive to attain Silver Mountain objectives.
Responsible for all financial and budget preparation for the above-mentioned departments.
Responsible for the preparation of payroll from time sheets to all necessary reports and paperwork ensuring everything is in compliance with state and federal laws
and Silver Mountain personnel requirements.
Responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearance of all operations.
Constantly strives to arrive at the basic aspects of Guest satisfaction.
Have working knowledge of all Silver Mountain Emergency Preparedness Programs and all essential support utilities.
Assume duties of General Manager in his absence.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed or may be required to assist in other departments.
Must at all times keep secure Silver Mountain's assets which include the following:
Personnel, Monies, Products, Information, Buildings, Equipment, Records.
