Your Impact

The Mould Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality mould shop operations. This position is responsible for leading and supporting a diverse team of skilled trades professionals, while overseeing tooling performance, mould commissioning, and maintenance activities. By balancing day-to-day operational priorities with longer-term improvement initiatives, this role contributes directly to productivity, quality, and reliability across the organization. We are looking for someone who is collaborative, technically strong, and committed to continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

1. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, support, and develop a team of approximately 16 employees across multiple skill levels

  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative team environment

  • Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback, coaching, and recognition

  • Support performance management and career development opportunities for team members

2. Mould Shop Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee all mould shop and maintenance activities, including commissioning new moulds and maintaining existing tooling assets

  • Coordinate and prioritize work across 600–700 production moulds and ~30 moulds in commissioning

  • Ensure efficient resource planning and balanced workload distribution

  • Monitor tooling performance and drive proactive solutions to minimize downtime and improve output

3. Technical Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and problem-solving support

  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD designs

  • Lead initiatives such as 5S, process improvements, and workflow optimization

  • Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture and operational discipline

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Licensed Mould Maker (431A) or Tool & Die Maker (430A) (Red Seal considered an asset)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a mould/die shop or manufacturing environment

  • At least 2 years of experience supporting or leading technical teams

  • Strong technical expertise in machining, tooling, and troubleshooting

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

Preferred:

  • Experience in injection moulding or plastics manufacturing

  • Familiarity with CNC, EDM, hot runners, or CAD programming

  • Experience in high-volume production or fast-paced environments
