Duties and Responsibilities

This position is authorized to examine and evaluate eligibility and/or conformity with laws and regulations governing legal compliance of licenses and enforcement activities; authorized to operate a personal computer and provide clerical assistance to the Operations Manager A – SES and the HSMV Assistant Section Supervisor – SES; authorized to draft replies to correspondence from customers that are requesting a reply regarding the revocation, suspension, cancellation or disqualification of the driving privilege; authorization to respond to email messages received from field offices, courts and customers when requesting information regarding the revocation, suspension, cancellation or disqualification of the driving privilege; authorized to perform related clerical support duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of/Willing to learn department rules, regulations and policies
  • Knowledge of techniques for effective oral and written communication
  • Knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation and grammar usage
  • Knowledge of/Willing to learn Florida Statutes governing driver license issues
  • Ability to adjust to changing workload and priorities
  • Skilled in problem solving techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word/Outlook to prepare written communication
  • Experience researching, reviewing, evaluating and/or analyzing information for accuracy

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
