Salary Range: $11.25 - $11.25 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:  This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Motion Zone Assistant is responsible for the safety and wellbeing of pre-teens who use the Motion Zone facility; oversees and assists users with computers, exergame equipment and video games.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Willingness to professionally interact with pre-teens ages 7-13 who are the primary users of the Motion Zone.
- Punctual, reliable attendance.
- Maintains a safe and healthy environment in the Motion Zone area; light cleaning is involved.
- Knows and follows the Motion Zone Policies and Procedures.
- Monitors the Sign-in and Sign-out sheet.
- Posts necessary information to ensure the safety and well-being of users
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

QualificationsEDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum 16 years of age, prior experience working with children is preferred.  Must complete all pre-hire and onboarding training requirements in a timely fashion. Applicants over the age of 18 must pass a criminal background check.
REQUIRED SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to interact with youth and co-workers.
- Ability to complete all cleaning responsibilities.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
- Must act professionally in all situations.
- Must complete required training and professional development activities.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Keep the room orderly by ensuring equipment is used properly; notify the supervisor of damaged or broken items.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Will be exposed to illness-causing bacteria and viruses.
