Job Description

SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, the Systems Engineer II responsible for the design and build of custom automation systems. The Systems Engineer II collaborates with other employees to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems. The Systems Engineer II effectively communicate system solutions, and assists in the evaluation of applications for viability, considering risk and complexity.

JOB DUTIES

  • Performs engineering calculations, investigations and tasks as assigned.
  • Responsible for project management, communicating requirements, establishing

timelines and coordinating activities with customer requirements for orders.

  • Collaborates with other employees to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on

defined problems

  • Prepares reports, graphs, planning layouts and summaries designed to communicate

project progress or results.

  • Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots and provides technical skills and training.
  • Recommends and designs components and systems of components working together to

meet customer specifications for size, layout and performance.

  • Develops system level proposals for automations systems.
  • Evaluates applications for viability, considering risk, complexity and commercial aspects.
  • Oversees build costs, ensuring delivery of systems as budgeted, achieving profit margin

rates as built.

  • Develops standard system packages to target high potential vertical markets.
  • Oversees system build and delivery, ensures delivery of quality systems, and customer

satisfaction.

  • May provide technical writing and functional explanations of how components work and

are integrated into industrial machinery.

  • May help improve production methods, determine manufacturing capacity and set up

production schedules.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, software

engineering, or a related technical field and two (2) to five (5) years of related experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of mechanical design software, machine controls, vision systems, precision

motion control, robotics.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Works as a key member of cross functional teams & must display a can-do attitude that

sets an example for others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

May require travel and specific safety training to work in dangerous and extreme

It also does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Motion, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.

  • Compensation is from $ 85,276.80 - $117,210.24 annually
