Job Description

Imagine arriving to work at one of our multiple exciting food & beverage outlets after a day spent on the slopes. Morrisey’s Pub is a local and guest favorite with an inviting atmosphere, tasty comfort food and delicious cocktails. We are looking to recruit a stellar individual for the Winter season. The Jr. F&B Server owns the food service experience within our outlets and strives to exceed the needs and expectations of our guests. This role will provide a vital training component to the successful candidates’ overall professional experience, opening opportunities for advancement internally and externally throughout the Tourism/Hospitality industry. Dedication to technical service is necessary, and attention to detail and a sense of urgency are required. An outgoing, engaging personality will also serve you well. Compensation Information: $19.35 per hour

Physical Requirement: Medium; work involves handling loads up to 20kg; predominantly in an indoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

This role is eligible for an incentive for successful applicants to receive $1 per hour worked based on completion of a full Winter season contract. Conditions apply to this incentive and will be shared during the interview and onboarding.

Skills you bring with you:

  • At least two years of experience in a similar working environment.
  • Serving it Right Certification.
  • Micros POS System experience.
  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Dedicated to working within a dynamic team that focuses on collaboration and guest experience.
  • Excellence in communication to allow a clear line of action for team success in ongoing guest service aspects
  • Must be available to work various shifts, including availability on weekends.
  • This position requires standing for long periods (up to 5 hours).
  • Must frequently and safely lift and maneuver food trays weighing 20 to 25 pounds.
  • Knowledge of Beer and other alcohol is considered an asset.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Owns the drink and food service for patrons of our food and beverage outlets.
  • Performs exceptional service delivery of all Food & Beverage services from the point of guest seating to dining experience completion.
  • Identifies timely need for ordering/replenishment of food & beverage and providing the bill.
  • Delivers the hotel's essential service standards, demonstrating hospitality warmth.
  • Delivers the hotel’s standard of service training manual in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
  • Assists with the entire F&B Department operations as business volumes may dictate, including Banquets, Mantles Restaurant & Lounge and Morrisey’s Public House.
  • Ensures operational Health and Safety regulations are permanently adhered to.
  • Acts as an ambassador for the destination, sharing knowledge of the wider Thompson-Nicola region.
  • While infrequent, capable of assisting in emergencies, making prompt decisions in the guest’s and hotel’s best interest.
