Job Description
The Mortgage Systems Analyst supports, administers, enhances, and maintains Central Bank mortgage technology platforms used by mortgage operations, sales, compliance, and related business teams. This role serves as a business-facing technology partner responsible for analyzing user needs, troubleshooting system and workflow issues, coordinating enhancements, supporting implementations and releases, maintaining system configuration and documentation, and helping ensure assigned mortgage applications are reliable, compliant, and aligned with operational objectives.
This position is structured for an experienced individual contributor who can complete assigned deliverables with limited day-to-day direction, apply sound judgment to business and system issues, and work effectively with internal stakeholders, IT partners, and vendors. This position can work from Columbia, Missouri or other locations throughout the Central Bancompany footprint.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- System administration and support: Administer, configure, maintain, and support assigned mortgage systems, including the loan origination system and related applications such as imaging, point-of-sale, accounting, vendor, and workflow platforms.
- Application Lead: Monitor assigned applications, respond to incidents, research potential defects or release impacts, isolate and replicate issues, coordinate fixes, and communicate status to business and technical stakeholders.
- System support: Serve as an escalation point for mortgage application issues, including user access, workflow functionality, configuration questions, business rule behavior, integration issues, and production support needs.
- Requirements and analysis: Review, analyze, and evaluate business, operational, compliance, and channel requirements; translate needs into system recommendations, programming requirements, configuration changes, enhancement requests, or project deliverables.
- Enhancements and automation: Support the design and implementation of mortgage system enhancements, business rules, workflows, and automation opportunities that improve accuracy, efficiency, controls, and user experience.
- Design and Testing Support: Work with programming and the project team to validate fixes and enhancements according to department change management procedures.
- Compliance and operations partnership: Work with Mortgage Compliance and operational leaders to help configure and maintain systems in alignment with corporate, investor, agency, and regulatory requirements.
- Vendor and cross-functional coordination: Develop effective working relationships with application providers, IT Application Support, Service Desk, Sales, Operations, Lock Desk, Compliance, and other internal partners to support operational needs and future enhancements.
- User adoption and service experience: Provide knowledgeable, timely, and professional support to internal users and external partners where applicable; assist with onboarding, training, and adoption of applications and process changes.
- Continuous improvement: Identify recurring support trends, process gaps, workflow constraints, and system improvement opportunities; recommend practical changes that improve stability, controls, efficiency, and customer service.
- Participate in team meetings, change discussions, production support activities, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Mortgage Banking, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience in mortgage operations, mortgage technology, business systems analysis, application support, system administration, implementation support, or a related function.
- Working knowledge of mortgage origination business processes, with the ability to assess workflows, analyze user needs, and translate requirements into system configuration, testing, or support actions.
- Experience supporting or administering mortgage technology platforms, loan origination systems, or third-party business applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, reasoning, and decision-making skills, including the ability to identify root causes and coordinate resolution across business, IT, and vendor teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document issues, processes, requirements, decisions, and user guidance clearly.
- Ability to work with limited supervision in a structured environment, prioritize multiple assignments, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general business technology tools, including spreadsheet and word processing capabilities.
- Detail orientation, sound judgment, customer service mindset, and ability to build effective relationships across departments and with external application providers.
