Join Barclays as a Mortgage Research VP, where you will develop and articulate investment strategies and produce and publish thematic research on mortgage-backed securities for internal and external audiences. Assess large and multi-layered datasets to identify market opportunities, risks, and emerging trends across mortgages and fixed income markets. Work with traders, salespeople, other research teams, and clients to provide actionable insights and recommendations. Evaluate market developments, macroeconomic trends, consumer behaviour, and credit dynamics impacting mortgage markets.
To be successful as a Mortgage Research VP, you should have experience with:
Ample communication, presentation, and writing skills with the ability to effectively communicate highly detailed market views
Demonstrated experience in mortgages, RMBS/MBS, fixed income investing, or related markets
Attention to detail and ability to operate in a fast-paced, market-driven environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg
Experience working with large and multi-layered datasets to support investment research and strategy-making
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data evaluation, automation, and research applications
Experience leveraging data science, analytics, or AI tools to improve research workflows and investment processes
Critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
Broad understanding of economics, credit markets, and mortgage-related products
Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to continuous learning

This role is regulated by FINRA.
Minimum Salary: $155,000
Maximum Salary: $225,000
