Job Description

The Mortgage Loan Coordinator is responsible for handling mortgage loan files from application to closing and assist with processing all incoming mortgage loan files. Work together with Mortgage Loan Officers, Processors, and Underwriters in achieving the goals of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and process all incoming mortgage loan applications.
  • Perform various preliminary reviews on loan files such as title reports, flood determinations, hazard binders, and appraisals.
  • Review the loan for basic required investor overlay requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy in following the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and Fair Lending requirements and Equal Credit Opportunity Act.
  • Assist in the completion of the loan with orders, verifications, and any other requirements throughout the loan closing process.
  • Assist Mortgage Loan Officer's with obtaining necessary required items prior to closing.
  • Prepare, complete and accurate loan packages for final underwriting submission.
  • Communicate with internal and external members including vendors throughout the entire loan process.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred. One or more years of loan processing or assistance experience preferred. Excellent communication and people skills with an eye for detail. Able to work under pressure and multi-task in an organized manner.

Performance Standard:

Must take pride in department by processing and assisting with loans in a timely and efficient manner with a high attention to detail. Must be professional and courteous in manner, with a strong sense of urgency as well as focuses on attendance, quality and quantity of work performed. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
  • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Reach keyboards.
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
