Job Description

We are looking for driven and reliable Mortgage Loan Counselors to join our Loan Servicing team. As a Counselor you will be responsible for connecting with borrowers who are past due on their mortgage accounts, working with them to identify resolutions and home retention options. Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact delinquent mortgage borrowers via inbound and outbound phone calls
  • Negotiate payment plans and arrangements to avoid mortgage delinquency
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and borrower interactions
  • Monitor and follow up on accounts to ensure timely resolution of overdue payments
  • Review borrowers for home retention programs based on loan type and eligibility
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to debt collection practices
  • Other job duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in debt collections, mortgage servicing, or related roles preferred
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
