Position Deli Clerk
Work Location: 945 Thornhill Street, Morden, MB
Status: Part-Time (24+ hours/week), Permanent, Non-Management
Shifts: Three 8-hour shifts/week. Mostly evening shifts 12pm-9pm with occasional daytime shifts. Weekend shifts required.

What you’ll do:
The Deli Clerk will deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining Co‑op image standards. In this role, you will take on a variety of responsibilities, including:
Slicing meats, working with hot foods and food preparation; merchandising and displaying products; maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
The Deli Clerk will live the Co-op Brand and strive to achieve and maintain positive and healthy relationships with co-workers and customers.

Living the Brand
The Deli Clerk will consistently represent and uphold the Co‑op brand by demonstrating Gardenland Co‑op’s vision, mission, and values in all interactions.
You will act as a Co‑op ambassador with a strong understanding of the Cooperative Retailing System and the cooperative business model, striving to build and maintain positive, healthy relationships with both co‑workers and customers.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service and creating positive interactions.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with both customers and coworkers.
Work well within a team environment and contributes to a supportive, collaborative workplace.
Work Duties/Requirements
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Prepare and handle food according to quality and safety standards.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing questions or concerns.
Support day‑to‑day deli operations in a fast‑paced environment.
Work comfortably with food while maintaining high safety and sanitation standards.
Stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive tasks.
Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 lbs.
Work a full‑time schedule, including days, evenings, and Saturdays.
Meet the physical and scheduling demands of the role while remaining reliable and punctual.
Qualifications
Strong commitment to customer service and food quality.
Previous deli or kitchen experience is an asset.
Strong communication, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
