Day - 12 Hour (United States of America)In accordance with the mission and philosophy of ValleyCare Health System, the Unit Secretary, is a member of the health care team who assists in the coordination of total patient care, under the direction of a Charge Nurse. This position is the focal point of communication and flow of the nursing unit. Performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient. Provides continuous cardiac monitoring as a trained observer at the nurses station. Maintains a safe a clean environment to facilitate the workflow of all the care providers. Applies the VHS Values to the performance of every job duty. These values include Quality, Teamwork, Respect, Courtesy, Empowerment, Responsiveness, Recognition and Improvement.
Applicant MUST have strong communication skills, as well as, strong phone and email etiquette. Applicant MUST also be able to multi-task efficiently
High School graduate or equivalent
Basic Computer Skills required. Detail oriented.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
CPR Training Required
Ability to speak, read, write legibly, spell correctly, do basic mathematics, and understand the English language.
Satisfactory completion of a course in basic EKG interpretation
Unit Secretary experience desirable.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $28.84 - $37.08 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
