We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

  • Design and implement robust MongoDB database architectures that support high-volume transaction processing and real-time analytics for financial services applications
  • Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable MongoDB solutions following HSBC's enterprise standards and best practices
  • Identify performance bottlenecks, optimize queries, and implement indexing strategies to ensure optimal database performance
  • Design comprehensive data integration strategies, mapping legacy systems and third-party databases to MongoDB while ensuring data compatibility and system interoperability
  • Execute data migration strategies from legacy systems and other databases to MongoDB, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime
  • Provide expert-level support for production issues, diagnose complex database problems, and implement solutions in real-time environments
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to establish monitoring and alerting frameworks, optimize infrastructure, and maintain system reliability
  • Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, share knowledge across the organization, stay current with MongoDB releases and cloud solutions (MongoDB Atlas, AWS, Azure), and evaluate emerging technologies for strategic adoption

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Professional software development experience (8+ years with 5+ years MongoDB)
  • MongoDB expertise (query language, aggregation pipelines, data modelling, replication, sharding, high availability)
  • Programming languages (Java/Python/Node.js)
  • Enterprise frameworks and microservices architecture
  • Relational and document-oriented database knowledge
  • MongoDB Atlas and cloud deployment (AWS, Azure)
  • Containerization and DevOps (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, IaC)
  • MongoDB security and Git version control
