We are looking for a Money Market Team Leader who will oversee daily Money Market operations by ensuring accurate processing, settlement, reconciliation and control of transactions, supporting front office activities and maintaining integrity of financial records, systems and accounts in line with governance and service standards.

Are you someone who can:

  • Oversee daily Money Market operational activities to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions and settlements
  • Supervise and review transaction processing, settlements, and system updates to ensure compliance with procedures and controls
  • Control and monitor suspense accounts used for interbank settlement clearing to minimise interest exposure and reputational risk
  • Review and authorise Money Market deals across systems to ensure accurate position management and data integrity
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of databases capturing statistical deal information for both domestic and international transactions
  • Support front office dealers by providing system assistance and resolving operational issues across applicable platforms and related systems
  • Review and authorise manual journal entries to ensure accuracy, validity, and compliance with accounting standards
  • Oversee the preparation and issuance of confirmations and account statements to customers and counterparties while resolving related queries
  • Review daily operational reports, including batch proofs, general ledger balances, and control templates, to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Supervise and review daily reconciliations, ensuring the timely identification, investigation, and resolution of variances
  • Control and monitor investment portfolios and settlement timelines to prevent delays, interest claims, and customer queries
  • Ensure general ledger balances are accurate and aligned with supporting systems and reconciliations
  • Oversee the safekeeping and custody of domestic assets and stock items, including script holdings
  • Ensure the delivery of investment certificates to clients in line with service standards and regulatory requirements
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure adherence to processes, controls, and service level expectations
  • Escalate material operational risks, control breaches, or unresolved issues to management in line with governance frameworks

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Hold a Bachelor degree of Commerce, preferably in Financial Management, or a Diploma in Treasury Management
  • 3 - 5 years Money Market or Investment related banking experience
  • 1 - 2 years of Team Management Experience
  • Have a knowledge and understanding of Treasury Bills, Government Bonds, Negotiable Certificate of Deposits (NCD), Promissory Notes, Deposits, Loans, and Investment accounts
  • Be computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook

The candidate should have the following knowledge and skills:

Knowledge

  • Money Market instruments and settlements
  • General ledger management and reconciliations
  • Financial transaction processing and controls
  • Operational risk and compliance environments
  • Banking systems including settlement and payment platforms

Technical Skills

  • Money Market operations and settlements
  • Reconciliations and suspense account management
  • General ledger control and financial reporting
  • SWIFT and settlement systems
  • Operational risk and control procedures
  • Financial systems and transaction processing
  • Data validation and reporting
