REPORTS TO: Molding Technical Supervisor

A Mold Set-Up Technican is responsible for supporting mold maintenance and production. Removes and sets molds according to the mold change schedule. Maintains molds for cleanliness and repairs as needed or as directed by lead man. Performs mold cleaning and required documentation. Manages and controls tooling and processing changes in the injection molding presses.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1.Performs all duties and essential job functions of the Material Handler – Molding position.

Performs basic mold set-up without supervision. Removes and sets molds according to mold change schedule assuring molds are secure, water is correct, ejector are setup, and all auxiliary equipment such as circlulators, hot runner controls, and air blasts are in place. Assure mold is correct style and change over if needed. Starts up and shuts down mold press. Completes process audits. Processes within ranges listed on set-up sheets. Clean molds as needed to maintain part quality for production. Communicates with other Mold Set-Up Technicians during shift and at shift change. Acts as trainer for Material Handler - Molding. Safely operates overhead hoist.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Intermediate problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Three years Mold Set-Up Tech experience or training and experience in mold setting and mold repairs.
