Let’stalk about the Role:

The primary role of MouldingEngineeris to applymouldingengineering principles to the design of tools, manufacturing process development, documentation, and testing for moulded parts. As part of the Globalmouldingengineering department, you willassistin development and driving implementation of the global moulding strategy. We look for you to be the subject matter expert formoulding(particularly in LSR)within Resmed. You willmaintainand advanceResmed’scoreinjection moulding capabilitiesandtechnicalunderstanding at a world-class level. Also, deliver robustandcost-effectivetechnical solutionsthatachieve competitive cost targets while enabling innovative, high-quality products and exceptional service. In this role, you will be part of an experienced manufacturing team that excels in the prototyping, processdevelopmentanddelivery ,directly influencingResmed’sinnovation journey

Let’sTalk About Responsibilities 

• SubjectMatterExpertin Moulding:Recognized as asubject matter expert in the complete Injection Moulding field and is sought out toprovide guidance on risks, resources and opportunitiesregardingsignificant projects and technical issues throughout theglobal moulding team

• Development and Delivery:Develop, qualify, andvalidatemoulding and ancillary processes/tooling for new precision parts/moulds.

• OptimizeManufacturing Processes:Analyse existing manufacturing processes toidentifyopportunities for improvement. Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Conduct regularassessments and adjustments tomaintainoptimalperformance. Drive for standardization and best practices.

• Team Collaboration:Works with the other teams of the Global Moulding Engineering Department to develop and drive implementation of core capabilities, strategiesand technology roadmaps. Provides support to automation, equipment, and tooling teams and vendors during development of moulding solutions.

• Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Product Development,production, and QAteams to understand their needs and provide technical supportfor projects Ensure thatmouldingsolutions align with production goals andcomply withsafety and quality standards. 

• Process Validation &TechnicalDocumentation:Manufacturing Process Validation – Support process qualification and validation activities within a regulated manufacturing environment. Perform DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ activities & ensureaccuratedocumentation. Ensuremoulding solutionsmeet industry standards, documenting changes, validations, and troubleshooting processes.

Let’stalk about Qualifications and Experience: 

Required

• B.S. inRubber/Plastics Engineering,Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent). 

• Minimumof3years of hands-on experiencewith injection moulding process development and debug using scientific injection moulding principlesin a high-volume manufacturing environment. 

• Good experiencein implementing complete injection moulding cells, and all required auxiliary equipment

• Clear understanding of what it takes to injection mould quality parts, including equipment capability.

• Keep up to date with current moulding technologies through seminars, magazine, trade shows etc

• Excellent organizational and technical communication skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to meet changing demand.

• Quality-oriented mindset and proactive in recommending updates to processes whereappropriate

• High levelof communication agilityrequiredto work across cross functional teams. Excellent communication and documentation skills, including technical reports.

• Achievement-oriented, independent, innovative, explorative, resourceful, with an attention-to-detail attitude.

• You are a team player with a can-do attitude and are willing to try, fail, and learn from your mistakes. 

Preferred qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and issue resolution.

• Background in medical device manufacturing and Quality Management Systems (QMS).

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current base range for this position is:
